So with tons of companies releasing their Valentine's Day collections, and the idea that this was the perfect time to show myself some love, I went for it! I believe most of these items have been available previous years and I didn't go nuts and order everything, but I do have 4 nifty products (and a sample) to share today!
The Ex-Factor Bath Bomb ($4.95, lush.ca)
This bath bomb is a pretty bright blue with a pastel pink heart on it's chest. It's much bigger than I expected and unless you really indulge, could probably last at least 3 baths. It's described as 'musky and creamy', and the scent was actually quite strong out of the bag. I don't really smell anything creamy but more so floral, musk and just the tiniest hint of vanilla. I'm partial to sugary sweet scents, so this may be a little more mature than I like, but it's very pleasant and will no doubt make for a very relaxing soak.
Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar ($5.95, lush.ca)
Although mine was a little flattened on one side, this is ADORABLE! It's about the size of the palm of my hand and has a smooth and creamy 'half-dry play-doh' texture. Described as 'creamy vanilla and fresh strawberries', I smell just that. The white base has a floraly vanilla scent, and the red cap has a fresh, almost tart strawberry scent. It's also quite strong and I can't really say how many uses as I don't have much experience with bubble bars, but I think I'll be breaking it into 2 uses.
Leap Frog Bath Bomb ($5.95, lush.ca)
This bath bomb is a gorgeous green colour, with bright red lips. His body is the bath bomb, while his lips are a super moisturizing (and VERY pigmented) body butter/bath melt. I love the idea of both being incorporated into one product, but because of how bright the lips are, I'm a little weary of how difficult that will be to wash off the tub. (I rubbed my finger across and will include a photo of just how blood-red it comes off!) Described as jasmine, rosewood and neroli, this bath bomb screams FLORAL! It's almost headache-inducingly flowerly. Very powerful but if you like florals, you'd love this. I've also heard there's something special inside, so I'm looking forward to dropping it in the water and finding out!
Sweetheart Soap ($6.95, lush.ca)
I was initially disppointed in this soap, because the photo on the website shows a big, round candy heart shaped soap with the word 'Sweetheart' printed on the top. I'm assuming now, that's the full batch before it's cut into chunks to be sold. It's a creamy white colour with a big pastel-pink chunk on one side. Very pretty! In my hand, I can feel the creaminess and already know it will make some pretty darn moisturizing lather. Described as 'jasmine, vanilla and sandalwood', it's very soft and girly and to me smells like powdery vanilla and citrus, heavier on the citrus. It's quite a large chunk for the price and I already know it will last a long time.
Lust Soap Sample (Full Bar $7.95, lush.ca)
Lastly, they threw in a little sample chunk of the Lust Soap Bar. It's hot pink, glittery and smells VERY strongly of pure, no-nonsense jasmine. I probably wouldn't purchase because it's such an overpowering floral but I'll definitely put this in my soap dish just because it's such a pretty shade of pink!
All-in-all, I'm pleased with my very first LUSH purchases, I can't wait to use everything!
