Review! Me and the Boy - Handmade Tart Melts & Body Products

What's better than a small company that makes eco-friendly, fantastic smelling (without all the harsh junk!) products for your house and body? One that's close to home!

I recently discovered Sampler Village and although we have yet to receive our first Sampler boxes, we were fortunate enough to come across a small company (and participating Villager) called Me and the Boy. Based out of Toronto, not far from us, it is run by a sweet, friendly and very helpful woman named Tanya, and her son. Today we received our first box of goodies from her and would like the share them with you!

First I'll start with the Tart Melts. They came in plastic packages, each containing 6 soy melts. We ordered 3 different scents:

Nag Champa - Scented after the extremely popular fragrance of incense, these melts are highly fragranced yet not overpowering whatsoever. It filled the room with a pleasant earthy, musky scent and could even be smelt from upstairs. Highly recommend!

Orange Patchouli - She sent us this one free! :) The patchouli was very light and almost unnoticeable in this fragrance (Fine with me! My Mom is the patchouli fan!) but the orange was very bright and refreshing, with a bit of a woodsy undertone. I would put the melter on the kitchen counter and have this one going first thing in the morning, it would be a great pick-me-up scent and really make the room smell bright and lively!

Pumpkin Eggnog - First off, my apologies for one of the cubes being missing from the photo. This scent was by far my favourite and it was already going before I even had a chance to take pictures! While the others we chose were either white or cream coloured, these were a bright, beautiful blue. A strange colour for the scent they contain, but beautiful nonetheless! I don't smell actual pumpkin, but it's an amazingly warm and cozy winter scent, full of cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and other yummy things I can't quite describe.

Sugar Scrub - Although the Sugar Scrub came without a label, I believe the scent was called 'Naughty Nights'. While I haven't had the chance to try it yet, I can already tell it is full of nourishing oils, is very thick but by no means harsh and the scent I can only describe as a soft, sensual and musky floral. Maybe even a little fruity if I hold it to my nose long enough. This was an amazing value, the container was literally packed to the brim!

Nag Champa Solid Perfume - Also scented after the popular incense fragrance, this solid perfume has all the appeal of the original scent, but blended down to a wearable and sexy muskiness. The consistency is moisturizing like a lipbalm and could very easily be worn and enjoyed by men and women!

Nag Champa Body Lotion - The last thing I pulled from the box was a little sample container of their Nag Champa Body Lotion. All I can say is this is definitely more body butter than lotion, and a little goes a LONG way! Very moisturizing and lovely!

So I definitely recommend checking out Me and the Boy on either their website or by heading over to their facebook and giving them a like! They sell lots of other amazing things like jewelry, home decor and more!

Also don't forget to check out Sampler Village to find out about this months Sampler box and all the amazing Villagers who will be contributing!
